How much do we know and understand as to why we are baptized and our children are blessed (dedicated)?  For this reason the attached document will help you understand christening, baptism and baby blessing/dedication.

For your convenience a more thorough class session is held each Sunday morning at 11:30 AM in the Church’s Conference room.

For baby/children blessings, it is customary to dress your child in white or a color of your choice that is special to you and for the child.

Instructions:

  • This form must be submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to your engagement.

  • Submission of this form does not imply an approval of your sacred event.

  • Upon receipt, your form will be reviewed for approval, and you will be notified within seven (7) days after receipt of your request.

  • Infant/Child Dedications are currently scheduled to occur monthly on the fourth Sunday of each month, during the last Worship Service.

IMPORTANT:

Baby dedications are for members of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church and at least one parent has to be a member.  Friends and family members other than the parents, grandparents and godparents are asked to stand at their seats during this sacred event.  The dedication of babies for unmarried parents will not take place in the Church Sanctuary.  After counseling for unmarried parents, a private ceremony can be held in another location of the Church, your home etc.
