Sunday Church School Lessons for March 2011
Faith Weaver: Weaving Faith Into Families
March 5, 2011: Jesus Teaches His Disciples to Pray [Matthew 6:5-13]
Bible Point: We can pray to God.
Key Verse: "This, then is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one'"[Matthew 5:16].
Weaving Faith Into Families:
Jesus, the Lord Almighty who created the world and conquered death, cares about each baby, each child, each youth, and each adult. Jesus is passionate about you and wants a friendship with you. In the world, it is all about who you know. Jesus is different! He loves everyone the same. Can you fathom the depth of Christ's love for you? Read Romans 8:38-39, and bask in your Savior's love. Do you follow your Lord's example? Who can you love with the love of Jesus?
March 12, 2011: Jesus Feeds Thousands [John 6:1-15]
Bible Point: We can count on God.
Key Verse: "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" [Philippians 4:19].
We often have a challenging time trusting Jesus. As we grow in Christ, we often forget to trust God and depend on the Lord for all of our needs. What are you counting on God for right now? Is trusting God more of a feeling or a decision? Have you seen God meet some of your needs recently? Share with others how Jesus has met your needs. Pray for those who doubt the miracle power of Jesus.
March 19, 2011: Jesus Explains Eternal Life to Nicodemus [John 3:1-17]
Bible Point: Jesus gives us eternal life.
Key Verse: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." [John 3:16]
Jesus did not come to make you more religious. Jesus came to make you a new person, one capable of responding to a life-giving friendship with Him. As we live our life each day, our relationship and friendship with Jesus should grow. What benefits of eternal life do we experience as Christians right now? How should knowing we have eternal life affect the way we live? If we receive eternal life simply by having faith in Jesus, what is our motivation to live God-honoring lives?
March 26, 2011: Jesus Talks With the Samaritan Woman [John 4:5-42]
Bible Point: We can find life in Jesus.
Key Verse: "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."
[1 John 5:12]
What is your living water? Your connection with Jesus is your living water. As you cultivate your friendship with Jesus through prayer and time in the Bible, you will discover refreshment-even during parched times. The Samaritan woman made a point to tell everyone she knew about Jesus. She found "living water," and she wanted all her loved ones to "taste" what a friendship with Jesus was like. With whom are you sharing living water? Ask God to give you the name of two people with whom you can share Jesus.
