Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr.

 Pastor
Flippin has faithfully served as Senior Pastor since 1990 and has led The Grove
to a unique sense of mission and outreach. The church has grown to a
membership of over 7000 people. Each Sunday, three morning worship services speak of this pastor’s vision for “equipping
the saints.” In his pastoral ministry, he has licensed and ordained over forty ministers and deacons.
Under his
leadership, Dr. Flippin has added full time staff
to develop programs of innovative ministry that serves the community and
the world. In the fall of 1996, a multipurpose Family Life Center with more than 25,000 square feet of space was
completed. This modern facility houses a gymnasium, child development center, bookstore, library, conference room
and classrooms and is valued at almost $2,000,000. Reverend Flippin and The Greater Piney Grove family has also
purchased over 30 acres of land for ministry expansion. The project is called ‘The Promised Land.’
Recently,
Dr. Flippin was appointed to the Advisory Board to assist the Fulton-DeKalb
Hospital Authority in finding solutions to Grady Memorial Hospital's
Financial problems
As
founder / chairman of the Flippin
Legacy Ministries, he established Pearl
Initiative, Inc., Pearls
of Great Price, and Elijah
Network. He has authored books "All Rise: Order in the Church"
and "All
Rise: Order in the Pulpit" and along with his 3 sons, wife
and Pastor's of The Grove co-authored "In
My Father's House".
