Surviving Trauma
|

How
do I Get Over This?
If
you are a survivor of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, you may
have wondered this question. Or you may be like others who would like
to simply forget what's happened and move on. If you can relate, there
is a safe place for you to come discover the answers to these questions
and more.
Come
find your voice.
It
is estimated that there are 60 million survivors of childhood sexual
abuse in America today. Source: Forward, 1993. The effects of
childhood abuse can never be forgotten but they can be left behind.
Therapeutic
Groups started in August 2007. Contact Lisa Brown or Terry

Meet our Summer Intern, Daeseung “Teddy” Son
|
Daeseung “Teddy” Son is 1.5
generation Korean-American immigrant. His family immigrated on March 25,
1993 to Georgia, and then within a year his father was called to a
church in Sarasota, FL. He spent his elementary, middle, and high school
years in the Central Florida area as well as his university education.
He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a major in
history and minor in religion. Teddy is currently attending Columbia
Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Divinity degree. Afterwards,
he plans to further his education in Church History.
When he is not studying, he enjoys spending time with his friends and
family. He also enjoys playing music, reading books, and watching
movies. His ultimate desire is to be a bridge between cultures to bring
them together in the name of Jesus Christ. |
